I haven't been able to watch those two episodes since they aired. They were so sad.

Very sad. And they stay with me long after the episodes are over. Seeing House cry just totally breaks my heart.

I watch them every so often because these two eps more than any others show (for me) the value House places on his friendship with Wilson, the depth of his feelings for him, and the lengths he will go to for him.

And Hugh is just amazing in HH/WH (as always).

So true, and I can't believe neither of them won an emmy for their performances.
I even find it hard to watch the ones where House and Wilson are fighting during the Tritter arc. I'm such a wimp.

House and Hugh get screwed by the Emmys. Of course, I'm of the opinion that the Emmys and the Oscars are all about being trendy and jumping on the bandwagon. TV shows and movies get chosen because the show/movie is artsy fartsy (but not popular), is about a beloved subject (Ray Charles, for example, though it was a good movie), a sympathetic star (battling an illness), or if the star dies (Heath Ledger). That's not to say that the shows/movies aren't good, but they aren't always the BEST. They are just the show/movie/actor du jour.

I think the Golden Globes and SAG awards are more significant and genuine.
