I think if I had to define House's feelings for Wilson in canon, they are more about the subconscious than the conscious. The amount of time and energy and attention he wants from Wilson is equivalent to that of a married couple or a soulmate, not a male, heterosexual friend. I don't think he realizes this consciously. Or if he does, he's in denial about it. Wilson is too. I think the idea that House is who he longs to be with, over anyone else, is sort of scary to him, even disregarding the possibility of homosexuality.
I agree that House wants more from Wilson than what one would expect from a friend. His jealousy over Wilson's relationships is an obvious manifestation of that expectation. I'm not sure that it's all subconscious, either, for either one of them.
I would love to see DS and KJ take a really bold and risky step and explore the possibility of a House/Wilson relationship. It'll never happen, but it's on my Christmas list.
Yeah I concur about Cuddy. I LOLed when Huddies were like "oh but who did House choose in House's Head to imagine stripping?" Well if I had to look at that woman, falling out of her clothing every day at work, I'd probably hallucinate her stripping too. Seriously?
He hallucinated Cuddy for three reasons: one, she already dresses like a stripper (and NONE of the other women on the show do), so it wasn't hard to take it one step further; two, she is always deliberately swinging her ass and boobs all over the place like a stripper; and three, she's the only one that constantly throws herself at House. Even Cameron was more subtle and that's saying something. (In her defense, though, Cuddy/LE has a beautiful body.)
Considering all the shitty things Cuddy has done to House, this season alone, I'm surprised he can even maintain an erection in her presence.
I don't know how anyone can still look at her with anything but contempt. Making him quit so that he could follow her advice and try a new method of pain management (then doing a complete 360 on the whole thing)? Putting a tripwire across a crippled man's doorway? Pretending the elevators were broken so the poor soul had to climb FOUR flights of stairs? Stealing his can so that he had to use a mop bucket to get around (this just mad me so sad for him)? Drugging him so that Wilson can take him to his father's funeral (which neither have the right to make him go to)? The aforementioned torture of House by taking over his office after blaming him for ruining hers?
Yeah, she's his "one twu wuv" alright. I can totally see it.
Oh but that's just their way of flirting. LOL. yeah right.
I cannot for the life of me figure out what people are basing that ship on. I mean, any ship is unrealistic to some extent. But usually people who ship something they know isn't canon are fairly open about it. Some Huddy shippers really think House and Cuddy are soul mates and seem to have completely missed the entire House Wilson dynamic. Same with the Hams, although they've finally let up a bit.
In one of my fics, can't remember which, House is in a mental institution and someone commented "great story, but where's Cameron" and I was like "why would she be in this story?" House is sick. She no longer works for him. She's not connected to him directly, except for the fact that Chase visited once and they're sleeping together. But seriously. I couldn't figure out why someone would ask that. They might as well have asked me where Santa Claus was.

It totally baffles me how some of them are so convinced that House and Cuddy are going to ride off into the sunset and raise Rachel (baby? what baby?) together.
Even scarier are the Huli shippers that think Hugh and Lisa are soul mates. I don't condemn RPers, but it just seems icky and wrong to me.

I don't understand it either. Why do they see things where they don't (and shouldn't) exist? When the promos for Simple Explanation came out, there was one of the scene where Thirteen is questioning Charlotte about being married for 30 years. Within minutes the Huddies were there in full force squeeing "OMG!11!! There liek totally talkin about Huddy u guiz!!1!! Huddy secks!!!"
These are the same people who said "listen to the lyrics of the song being played when House goes to Cuddy's and then doesn't knock!" Because the fact that he left without knocking means nothing, if the song playing while he did it was romantic. AND OH OH! WHY WOULD THEY SHOW THAT AT THE SAME TIME AS CAMERON EMPTYING OUT A DRAWER FOR CHASE IF THEY WEREN'T TRYING TO TELL US CUDDY IS HOUSE'S TWU WUV?
Maybe because they like screwing with your heads, pretty much as they've done for the past 5 seasons.
I mean the baby was the biggest mistake ever. And if it was just a plot device to get House and Cuddy together, then major fail.
They cheapened Cuddy's earlier rather genuine desires to have a baby by turning her into a hormonal moron. And then in one episode the baby is there and in another she's not. I don't know about you, but when I had a newborn baby, it was evident in everything I did. It's not something you can quietly shove in the corner and access at your convenience.
And let's just for argument's sake say that House was entertaining the notion of shacking up with Cuddy. "The frisky. It went away" the second she adopted the baby. What do we know about House? He cannot stand to share the spotlight. He would not want to play second fiddle to some newborn infant. I've seen solid marriages failed over suck dynamics, because the husband just couldn't handle sharing his wife.
I think what's most sad is that -as a House Wilson shipper- and as far as canon, I only ship them friendship- the slash is just for my own personal amusement, I don't find myself having to reach or search too hard for evidence to support my ship. But I find myself being embarrassed for the Huddy's when I come across fanfics or posts that talk about how House is going to marry her and they're going to raise the baby together or how he's going to go to therapy to make himself all better for her.
I'm tempted to make a list of every possible ship and then include all canon evidence for an against each of them. I'll have all summer. So maybe I will.

Seriously? Because if you listen to the actual words in a lot of the songs they use on the show, they don't always correlate to what is actually going on onscreen. I guess you can find something if you look hard enough for it. I mean the baby was the biggest mistake ever. And if it was just a plot device to get House and Cuddy together, then major fail.

I totally agree. I absolutely despise the whole baby arc. I hate how she, as you say, turned into a hormonal moron and then became completely unhinged when she got the baby. That whole screaming at the baby "Tell me what you want" scene was awful, and worse, was followed immediately by mommy-baby bonding. Don't get me wrong, I know some mothers whether biological or adoptive don't immediately bond with their babies, but the writers should have talked to a real mom before writing that atrocious storyline.
And yeah, when I became a mom my daughter was either with me everywhere I went, or I was talking about her and shoving pictures into people's faces.
And let's just for argument's sake say that House was entertaining the notion of shacking up with Cuddy. "The frisky. It went away" the second she adopted the baby.
Which may have been the intention of the writers all along. DS doesn't believe in happy endings, and he realizes that for the show to succeed that House must remain House, so I'm willing to be optimistic and say that the whole baby thing was done deliberately so that HUDDY 4EVA will not happen.

That would be awesome to read!
